Read the words on the sheet, in the homework section, titled ‘Reading – Monday 11th January’. The children sound the letters out and blend the word together.
Also, in the homework section, is a sheet entitled ‘Reading 2 – Monday 11th January. If you feel your child is able to read these words please try this too. I’ve included the sound buttons for the children to press as they read the words.
Writing
In this lesson, the children will write a simple sentence about their weekend news e.g. I went sledging with my mum, I went to the shop or I got a bun.
At this stage, children are at all different levels, children can attempt the whole words or they can just focus on writing the initial sound in each word. You can write this on the postcard ‘Writing –Monday 11th January’ or on a piece of paper and send me a photograph.
English
In this lesson, the children will mime the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff
Maths
We usually start each maths lesson by singing this song. Most children can count to 20 and others can count beyond that.

Understanding the World (My Family)
In this lesson, we join Miss Hughes to think about who is in our family. We learn how our families are related to us and acknowledge that all families are different. We end the lesson by drawing a picture of our family. You can extend this lesson by developing your technology skills and taking family photos.
