"To be the best that we can be"

Monday 18th January

Good evening,

Here are the activities ready for tomorrow. Please join me for our zoom sessions at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Please see classdojo for the zoom links.

Monday 18th January

Phonics

Today’s phonics lesson will be on zoom at 10.30am (please see classdojo for the zoom link). In this lesson I will focus on the sounds m, a, s, d, and t. We will be reading the green words: mat, sat, at, sad, mad, dad. We will then have a go at writing some words so please have a pencil and some paper ready with you. If you cannot join us for the zoom session, please practise reading and writing these words when you can. This lesson can be adapted as needed for your child by only writing a couple of words or by using the words to write a sentence or two.

English

Please see ‘say it, join it, write it – Monday 18th January’ for the English activity. Look at the picture, say the word, join the letters to build the word and then write the word in the boxes.

Maths

In this lesson the children will be adding. For this online lesson you will need a ten frame which you can draw on paper and 10 countable objects in 2 different colours. This lesson can be adapted as your child needs by using smaller numbers or by using bigger numbers and/or writing the number sentences.

At 2.30pm there will be a zoom maths session (please see classdojo for the zoom link). In this lesson it will be number talk and adding numbers up to 10. Please have a pencil and some paper and 10 countable objects ready.

Understanding the World (My Friends)

In this lesson, we join Miss Sidenius to learn about what it means to be kind and how we can be kind to others. We will draw a picture for a friend who is kind to us to let them know how much we appreciate having them as a friend. You can extend this lesson by talking about how else we can be kind to our friends when playing, for example sharing toys and taking turns.
