Ightenhill Primary School

"To be the best that we can be"

Sports News 2016

We have had an extremely busy term with PE and sport, and a record number of children participating in extra-curricular activities. This term, we delivered football, netball and tag rugby clubs after school and had 48% of our key stage two children attending clubs on a weekly basis. A huge well done to all of the children who participated.

In PE this term, classes 5, 7, 10 and 11 have been taught by our FUNDA coach, Dan, receiving high quality PE lessons from specialist coaches. Their teachers have developed their professional knowledge and will continue to deliver the PE lessons alongside our coach Dan in the spring term.

Our year 6 children had 5 weeks intensive tag rugby training by specialist rugby coach, Phil. He was highly impressed with their progress. We hope that our children have been inspired to join clubs and maintain their participation in sport.
