"To be the best that we can be"

Tuesday 26th January

Good evening,

Here are the activities for tomorrow. Please join me for our zoom sessions at 10.30am and 2.30pm. The zoom links will be in the next post.

Tuesday 26th January

Phonics (To read and write words with the sound ‘ck’)

Today’s phonics lesson will be on zoom at 10.30am. In this lesson, I will recap the sounds and words from the previous lessons and focus on the special friend ‘ck’. We will be reading the green words: back, sack and black. We will then have a go at writing some of these words and finish with writing a few simple sentences. You will need to have a pencil and some paper with you. If you could draw five lines across the paper this will help your child when they are writing the sentences.
If you cannot join us for the zoom session, please practise reading and writing the words in the portfolio section titled ‘Writing Words’

Maths (To add two numbers)

Start by playing this number song for your child to sing along to

In this lesson, we will practise adding two numbers. You will need 15 counters. Please complete the maths activity ‘Adding Numbers’. This will be in the portfolio section titled ‘Adding Numbers - Tuesday 26th January’.

Afternoon Zoom

At 2.30pm there will be a zoom session. In this session, we will be adding 2 and 3 numbers. You will need to have 15 objects.
We will then play a number ‘Scavenger Hunt’ game.

Understanding the World (To know what farm animals need to grow)

In today's lesson, you will learning about how farm animals grow, including what different farm animals need to grow. We end the lesson with a fun task creating some potato print chicks, just like you might see on a farm. To extend this lesson, you could talk about other baby animals that you might find on a farm.
