Tuesday 2nd February
Today’s phonics lesson will be on zoom at 10.30am.
In this lesson I will recap the set 1 sounds and green words. I will then recap our first set 2 sound ‘ay’. We will then read the green words: day, may, say, play, way and spray again and have another practise at writing these words so please have a pencil and some paper ready with you. If you cannot join us for the zoom session, please practise reading and writing these words when you can. This lesson can be adapted as needed for your child by only writing a couple of words or by using the words to write a sentence or two.
Please complete the ‘ay activity’. This will be titled ‘ay activity – Tuesday 2nd February’.
Start by watching numberblocks - series 3: twelve
The children can then make a number poster for number 12. They can practise writing number 12 and drawing/counting out 12 objects. Children can also complete the activity ‘additions to 12 - Tuesday 2nd February’ which is below.
At 2.30pm there will be a zoom session.
In this session we will be completing a few subtractions in preparation for Wednesday’s work. Please can you have 15 counters ready with you for this session. We will also play ‘number bingo’ so please have a number card ready like we did last week with numbers 0-20.
This week (1st-7th February) is ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’ and it is especially important this year that we acknowledge it! This years theme is ‘Express Yourself’ where we will encourage children (and adults) to explore the different ways we can express ourselves, and the creative ways that we can share our feelings, our thoughts and our ideas. For further information please click on the link below.
Please click on the link below for a ‘draw your feelings’ activity.
Please continue to complete ‘Today’s Mood’ daily and talk about the ‘Monster Zones’ page for you to help your child to think and talk about their emotions and how they are feeling. Also, there is a ‘The-Colour-Monster’ activity. Please complete lesson 2 with your child.
