Class teacher - Mrs Baron
We have been working on attacking and defending games in PE this half term. After mastering Tag Rugby in the last few weeks, we turned our attention to football. Li, Tristan and Harrison planned our warm up, skills and drills session before Mrs Baron stepped into Mr Hughes' shoes and continued with the rest of the session. The children had a great time, setting up mini-games and increasing their confidence with ball control.
Our Year 6 children welcomed Sally-Anne, from the school library service, into class to deliver a workshop based on the books that make up the FBA. It was an hour of competitive fun as the children looked at different book covers and decided which appealed to them. We did exactly what we are advised not to do and judged a book by its cover! Each group had to cooperate and come to a decision, choosing one book from a selection of titles. Following this, we read blurbs, memorised information and took part in a few different challenges. Class 15 had fantastic knowledge of books; Tilly even guessed a character from one clue! We had a fantastic afternoon.
We have produced some fantastic artwork which is currently taking over our classroom and corridor. This is us working on our new 'project' inspired by The Lion King. The children are creating masks using paper mache techniques.
As you will probably know, Mrs Pearson loves science and takes us to the Phiz Lab any chance she gets. Here we are investigating what factors would affect the size the balloon would inflate to. Some of us went a little too far and popped our balloons.
Thank you to the adults who came to support their children.
