Class teacher - Mrs Baron
Hello and welcome to Class 15. I am looking forward to meeting you this year and sharing lots of exciting experiences with your child. It will certainly be a busy year! Look out for photographs of us in action on this page and also keep an eye on class 14's page - we spend a lot of time together as year 6, so photos can appear on both pages.
We are extremely lucky to be able to take part in a project supported by The River Ribble Trust. We are provided with trout eggs in early January; we then nurture these eggs until they hatch into brown trout. In March, we release them back into the river after watching them grow and learning about their lifecycle first hand. We will keep you updated with their progress!
We enjoyed making Christmas craft items out of recyclable materials to link to out 'What A Waste!' topic.
In our RE lessons, we have learnt that Hindus believe that life has four stages. We also learnt about some Hindu beliefs and looked at good karma and bad karma. The photos below show us talking part in a workshop with a visitor from the Faith Centre. She told us about her religion, answered many of our questions and showed us some of her dance moves!
In our science lessons, taught by Mrs Pearson, we are learning about electricity. Here we are demonstrating our previous knowledge of circuits.
This half term we will be developing our moving and handling skills, and attacking and defending skills through tag rugby. We will also work on team building and the school games values: passion, determination, team work, self belief, respect and honesty.
This is our first art lesson with Mrs Marney; we are exploring the work of Faith Ringgold.
