Ightenhill Primary School

To be the best that we can be.

Welcome

WELCOME FROM THE HEADTEACHER

In January 2021, I took on the role of Headteacher at Ightenhill Primary School. Previously, I have been a Headteacher in Accrington and Bury, leading my schools through a number of successful Ofsted inspections.

I am passionate about leading the pupils, parents, staff and governors of our fantastic school as we look forwards ambitiously to the future.

Ightenhill Primary is a caring school where every child is important and our staff work hard to encourage all our children to achieve their potential. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school with high expectations for all of our learners.

Your partnership with us is crucial and we are proud of our strong links with parents. We involve parents in all aspects of school life, to share your children’s enthusiasm for learning and to celebrate their success. Working together, we hope that your child’s introduction to learning will be happy and successful. This partnership with parents has been more important than ever during the unprecedented challenges of the last three years.

We aim to inspire learning through a rich curriculum that enables all children, whatever their ability or interests, to acquire knowledge, skills and understanding of the world in which they live.

Every Friday, you will receive a newsletter highlighting the week’s events and giving you information on what is happening in school. The newsletter also shares the children’s successes and focuses on achievement, both academic and social.

We hold various parent’s events throughout the year but hope you are welcome to come into school to discuss any matter with us relating to your child’s progress or well-being whenever the need arises.

Please enjoy our website which has lots of information about the school and of course is a celebration of learning.
