Ightenhill Primary School

To be the best that we can be.

What are we learning?

What will I learn this year?

Autumn 2 text - 'The boy who conquered Everest'

By Katherine Blanc with Jordan Romero

Avalanches. Frostbite. Hypothermia. Acute mountain sickness.

Mount Everest's dangers are many, and the peak has taken the lives of countless experience mountain climbers, but that wasn't going to stop Jordan Romero from reaching its summit at the age of thirteen.

Showing all our school values in abundance, Jordan Romero is certainly a role model to our year five children, who have been amazed by his accomplishments.

Autumn 1 text - Beowulf

                                                                        By Rob Lloyd Jones

We are really enjoying our text in English!

We’re huge fans of history in class 11 and we are enjoying our Anglo-Saxons theme, so ‘Beowulf’ is perfect to start our reading off this year.

Autumn 1 topic - The Anglo-Saxons

In History, we learned about the Anglo-Saxon period, when they ruled in Britain. In Art & Design, we created our own Anglo-Saxon inspired mixed media art piece using skills of weaving and braiding.
